SUMMARY:MSTC Youth Company Auditions
DESCRIPTION:The MST Youth Company is a training program for students who are serious about expanding their musical theatre training. Admittance to The Youth Company is by Audition Only. Auditions are scheduled for July 21 and August 3. Ages 8-13 will audition between 1:00-2:30PM and ages 14-17 will audition between 2:30-4:00PM.\n\nAge Requirement: Ages 8-17\nCourse Requirements:\n• Musical Theatre Technique Course (Required) on Tuesdays from 6:00-6:55 PM\n• Company Rehearsals on Tuesdays from 7:00-9:00 PM. Students may not be called for the entire rehearsal period each week. Additional rehearsals could be called on Sunday afternoon/evenings.\n• Musical Theatre Dance (for students not enrolled in Dance Technique classes at a local studio)\n• Private Voice (for students not currently studying private voice)\nPerformance in the Company Revue is required for the Youth Company. The Company Revue will take place the weekend of April 5-6\, 2025.\nPlease note: The MSTC Youth Company is a FULL YEAR commitment. Dropping classes mid-year will not result in a refund. The Fall Semester runs September 9-December 21. The Spring Semester runs January 6-April 19.\nAUDITION REQUIREMENTS: Those interested in auditioning should prepare 32 bars (approximately 1 minute) of a song of their choosing. Upon registration\, students will be given a vocal audition time. An accompanist will be provided. Please bring sheet music in the correct key. Following the vocal audition\, everyone will attend a group dance audition. Ages 8+ are invited to audition for this production. \n\n\nMonday November 20: Ages 8-12 at 5:00 PM\, ages 13+ at 6:30 PM \nTuesday November 21: Ages 8-12 at 5:00 PM\, ages 13+ at 6:30 PM \n\n\nAll auditionees will sing first and should prepare 32 bars of a song in the style of the show. Please bring sheet music in the correct key. An accompanist will be provided. \nYou may be asked to stay for a movement/dance audition following your vocal audition. Please bring comfortable clothing and jazz or athletic shoes for the movement/dance audition. \nCallbacks will be held the same day as the initial audition.
