The Main Street Theatre Youth Company is a musical theatre training program for kids ages 8 and up. Youth Company students have required weekly courses and will train in acting, singing, and movement. Students will also attend weekly rehearsals to prepare for the MST Youth Company Revue at the end of the season.

Participation in the Youth Company is a full year commitment. We will hold our students in this program to a high standard of commitment, work ethic, and integrity.

Admittance into the program is by audition in the fall only.

Theatre Dance is a 45 min long class that begins with a warm up, including basic technique, as well as stretching, conditioning, and cardio.

Students will focus on building skills, vocabulary, and combinations so that they are equipped to handle the challenges of dance calls during musical theatre auditions, as well as to put their best foot forwards anytime they are on stage.

Students in Tap will learn the foundations of tap dance technique and terminology, as well as the proper execution of basic tap steps and sounds. They will then be challenged to put them together in combinations as they advance in their study. Tap dance helps students develop their sense of time, coordination and musical skills. Sections are available for ages 8-17.

Through a series of multi-week workshops, students will study a variety of topics to build and advance the necessary skills of a well- rounded musical theatre performer. Students will be scheduled on a weekly basis to attend a 60 minute group class focused on acting, song interpretation, movement, music theory, and more! Students will work with different faculty members on a rotational basis.

*Musical Theatre Technique is required for MST Youth Company Members. Open to Youth Company Students only. 

Musical Theatre Performance is our Musical Theatre Technique class for students not enrolled in our Youth Company. This class focuses on applying and bringing together the disciplines of singing, acting, and movement. Students will explore acting, song interpretation, movement, audition skills, and more! Sections are available for ages 6-17.
