About Youth Company
Developing Skills in Acting, Voice, Dance, and Ensemble Work
The Main Street Theatre Youth Company is an advanced musical theatre training program for young performers, ages 8 and up. In this immersive program, students will receive focused instruction in acting, singing, and movement through weekly classes. These classes are designed to develop their skills and prepare them for the demands of the stage. Additionally, students will attend weekly rehearsals to prepare for the Youth Company Revue, a culminating performance at the end of the season, where they showcase everything they’ve learned.

Participation in the Youth Company is a full-year commitment. Classes take place on Tuesday evenings starting at 6:00 PM, and the program is divided into two semesters: the fall semester runs from mid-September through mid-December, while the spring semester runs from mid-January through mid-April. Students in the program are expected to uphold high standards of commitment, work ethic, and integrity both in and outside the classroom.
*Admission to the Youth Company is by audition only. Auditions for the 2026-2027 Season will be held on Sunday June 14 and Saturday June 20.
Audition Information
Acceptance into the MST Youth Company is by audition only. Auditions for the 2026-2027 Season will be held on:
Sunday June 14 (ages 8-13 from 4:00-5:15 PM)
Sunday June 14 (ages 14-17 from 5:15-6:30 PM)
Saturday June 20 (ages 8-13 from 2:00-3:30 PM)
Saturday June 20 (ages 14-17 from 3:30-5:00PM)
Those interested in auditioning should prepare 32 bars (approximately 1 minute) of a song of their choosing.
Upon registration, students will be given a vocal audition time.
An accompanist will be provided. Please bring sheet music in the correct key.
Following the vocal audition, everyone will attend a group dance audition.
Please bring comfortable clothing and jazz shoes or athletic shoes to attend the dance audition.
Youth Company Tuition, Fees, and Participation Details
Requirements:
To be an MST Youth Company Member, students are required to enroll in our Musical Theatre Technique class which meets on Tuesdays from 6:00-6:55 PM.
Students will also attend weekly rehearsals on Tuesdays between 7:00-9:00 PM to prepare for a yearly Company Revue.
Students will attend music, staging, and choreography rehearsals on a weekly basis to work on a variety of songs culminating in a year end Revue.
Musical Theatre Technique and Rehearsal Fees are included in your tuition for the MST Youth Company.
Dance & Voice Requirements
Students not enrolled in dance techniques classes at a local dance studio will also be required to enroll in our Musical Theatre Dance course.
Students not enrolled in private voice lessons outside of MSTC are required to attend a 30 minute weekly private voice lesson taught by a MSTC Faculty Member.
Cost: $350/semester
Tuition covers the Musical Theatre Technique class and rehearsal fees.
Additional costs are added for Musical Theatre Dance and Voice Lessons.
