Main Street Theatre Youth Company
About
The Main Street Theatre Youth Company is a musical theatre training program for kids ages 8 and up. Students in the Youth Company have required weekly courses and will train in acting, singing, and movement. Students will also attend weekly rehearsals to prepare for the Youth Company Revue at the end of the season.
Participation in the MST Youth Company is a full year commitment. The fall semester begins in mid September and runs through mid December. The spring semester runs mid January through mid April. We will hold our students in this program to a high standard of commitment, work ethic, and integrity.
Admittance into the program is by audition only. Auditions for the 2022-2023 Season will be held on Monday August 29 at the State Theatre Center for the Arts. Ages 8-13 will audition between 5:30-7:00 PM. Ages 14+ will audition between 7:00-8:30PM.
Requirements
To be a MST Youth Company Member, students are required to enroll in our Musical Theatre Technique class which meets on Tuesdays from 6:00-7:00PM. Students will also attend weekly rehearsals on Tuesdays between 7-8:30PM to prepare for a yearly Company Revue. Students will attend music, staging, and choreography rehearsals on a weekly basis to work on a variety of songs culminating in a year end Revue. Musical Theatre Technique and Rehearsal Fees are included in your tuition for the MST Youth Company.

Students not enrolled in dance techniques classes at a local dance studio will also be required to enroll in our Musical Theatre Dance course.

Students not enrolled in private voice lessons outside of MSTC are required to attend a 30 minute weekly private voice lesson taught by a MSTC Faculty Member.
Cost:
$280/semester or $70/month
Tuition covers the Musical Theatre Technique class and rehearsal fees. Additional costs are added for Musical Theatre Dance and Voice Lessons.
Auditions

Those interested in auditioning should prepare 32 bars (approximately 1 minute) of a song of their choosing. Upon registration, students will be given a vocal audition time. An accompanist will be provided. Please bring sheet music in the correct key. Following the vocal audition, everyone will attend a group dance audition. Please bring comfortable clothing and jazz shoes or athletic shoes to attend the dance audition.
